111 TXT service for Deaf and hearing impaired persons
This service is to make it easier for you to contact Fire, Ambulance or Police for emergency help. NZ Police & Deaf Aotearoa NZ, NZ Fire Service, St John and Wellington Free Ambulance. The Police Communications Centres take 111 calls from hearing people who have an emergency. Now we're taking texts from registered Deaf and hearing impaired people so that in an emergency, you can text 111. Must register first see www.police.govt.nz/deaf-txt/how-to-register
