This section "Other Helpful Information" is for those who are finding it difficult to know where to start.    

Many people who have a Disability have a strong desire to remain as independent as much and as long as possible... and there are numerous services and support groups out there to assist you do this. Some are private and some paid for by the Government.

Finding and accessing these can be a minefield for anyone and with this in mind the Horowhenua  www.DisabilityConnection.co.nz  has been developed and extended to make this a less stressful period for both the people with disabilities and their families assisting them.

This information has been added to the website to assist with both local information and common steps in the processes of obtaining help in order to simplify the process. I hope that this information will explain different aspects, offer information and be helpful in your decision making.
